It’s no surprise that Halloween is the busy season for ghost whisperer Mary Ann Winkowski.

“I’m the Halloween Queen,” Winkowski, 76, tells PEOPLE.

In addition to being a devout Catholic and typical suburbanite — who has been married for decades to her husband Ted and is the mother of two daughters, age 55 and 52 — Winkowski also happens to have spent her life as a full-time paranormal investigator.

She says she sees earthbound spirits trapped on earth, and eases them “into the light.”
